The Alternative Parts List gives the correct part numbers for the clutch components on the 2.9. For some reason they are listed under gearbox while the clutch hydraulics are listed under engine. That Alternative Parts List remains the best compilation of parts information, with links where appropriate to topic 'threads' about the components and their fitting.

I am changing my complete clutch and the ford part nos. stamped on my old parts are the same as those posted by Norman.I am trying to buy a QH 3 part kit. I have given a couple of QH clutch suppliers the Ford part nos. but they don't seem to be able or bothered to cross reference these against the QH parts, and ask for my car reg. no. I explain that the parts are most likely off a 1987 2.8i capri but for a TVR and then things get complicated. I have looked on the web QH parts list and a capri kit is noted as QKT2030AF. Has anybody been through this, and if so can you confirm the QH reference or that a capri 2.8i clutch is definately the one? Only reason I was going to go for the QH part is that it is cheaper than the Ford parts at around £90 inc. postage. Any advice anyone?

I thought there was something funny with a 2.9 clutch like a 2.9 clutch cover with a 2.8 friction plate or something - down to the fact that TVR retained the older (2.8) gearbox with the 2.9 engine.

£175 is too big a bullet at the moment Norm. Han thank you that was the post I was looking for - wow 2 years ago. Lou4010 used the QKT 2030AF kit so I will take a chance on that. (£90 inc. the dreaded and delivery). Thanks gents.
