Mine was still ok after about two years and it was ok on vinyl I would go for the mat Finnish gloss is to shiny.

I'll echo the sentiments above. You can go to any colour you like (light over dark will require more coats) and in theory the colour should last just as long the colour on the original, because it is the same process.

I was very impressed with the results of mine. If you decide to go ahead with it, do a search for the topic I started about it as I try to give a step by step guide with some tips I picked up along the way.

Use 10% by volume of cross linker x on vinyl or on areas that suffer lots of traffic. Use a compressor to apply for best results and don't overload..plenty of coats.

The finish coats are important, not enough and it stays a bit tacky and attracts dirt... At least that's my experience.
