Going to Lake Forest Sportscars to see the Evora?
Anyone seen it ahead of me?
Thoughts?

I went to Lake Forest Sports Cars for an open house with the Evora. They were kind enough to let me drive the car on the somewhat icy roads. Here are my short impressions...the engine noise is not memorable, ingress/egress are much better than the Elise (as reported), but it doesn't compare to the Aston Martin, Porsche, Corvette. The interior is first class--superb touch points, great seats for example. The view out the back is nominal. Driving the car, the steering had excellent feel, the gear change was smooth and the brakes bit very hard. The car looks impressive, but the Elise wins the looks battle.
The dealer said the car I drove (apparently high spec) would be priced around $85,000. I think the car is overpriced at $85,000--though if it was priced closer to the Cayman (say 5% hgiher), Lotus would be on to something.
The car is an every day proposition--even for those of us who see a lot of snow. Price it at $60,000 and the car will be a winner.
Maybe I will let someone else take the deprecation hit!

The Evora has made its first appearance on Ebay in the USA. Seems $85,000 is the price.
The yellow one doesn't cut it for me.
Also, how many miles on a car before you can consider it used?

Saw one when I was last in Newport Beach, CA visiting some friends. I thought I had the pictures of it, but I cannot seem to find them at the moment. Edit: Found them... buried. My friend ended up buying this car. I loved the feel of the car, although the engine was a bit boring.

I understand Evora and Evora S are now the only Lotus cars on sale in USA following deletion of Elise and Exige. Maybe that says something about the intended destination market for a new, stretched V6 Exige?
Regrettably Lotus recently gave Road&Track an Evora S for a comparison test which wasn't in top condition. Writer was particularly critical of a baulky 2nd gear (synchro trouble?) and the interior.
