....to help me in return for beers If possible, even this afternoon! Please see this thread: http://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/topic.asp?h=0&a...Hopefully it's something simple like leads, plugs, O2 sensor, but given that I don't have the tools and only v limited experience, I'd rather not dive in on my own as the most I've done in the past is put new coil packs in

At the risk of sounding like a bit of a w****r, I will never give those people any business on principle. I dropped my 911 off there a few years ago to be valued and it came back with a shattered wing mirror casing and scratches to the paintwork that lost me the thick end of £500 when I had to sell it the same day. Last time I checked they also seemed to be charging main dealer prices despite being an indie

Speaking as a Porsche owner, Chelsea Carrera are fine in my experience - I assume Z4's comment wasn't made in respect of them? If so it doesn't reflect the experience of at least 2 other people I know who use them.
ETA I have to confess to some bafflement with the mucking about with amatuer mechanics...surely better to get it to Joe Macari and get it on the diagnostics or ask one of his chaps to come out...even my brother's used Joe and he's not averse to attempting things using screwdrivers on his 348...at least then you'd have it for the good weather...

Chelsea Carrera have done a little work for me in the past on my 911 and it was fine unfortunately they couldn't help with my car But one of them did say he new someone who might be able to so I need to give them a ring back
