Anyone know whether this place has changed hands? Went about a week ago and it looked like completely different guys. No OtR tea shirts and no interest in the customers or cars. Didn't even bother getting them to do the Tiv.

Anyone know of another good place to go in N, NE or NW London?

Cheers.

No, hasn't changed hands - I still use the place regularly and Alfie Taj still owns it.

Sounds like you got them on a bad day when he wasn't around to maintain standards. Exact same thing happened to me when I took my C4 in one day a couple of months ago, but otherwise the guys there have always been excellent.

I went a few weeks ago and wasn't impressed, having previosuly read great things about them.

They certainly are better than most hand car washes but not enough to trust them with my detailed P&J (I took the non detailed car as a test). For instance, same sponge used throughout and not rinsed. The interior was a joke, smears of greasy products randomly left all over, I actually had to do it all again when I got back home!

In total I was there for 2.5 hours (of which around 2 waiting time, ~ 6 cars before me) so won't be going back. In addition the place itself is a mess with trash all over, nowhere to sit, but at least the Ace is close by and quite good (hadn't been there before).

On the plus side, they are very good value at £10 for an exterior wash given the level of detail compared to the standard hand washes.

I hadn't seen this before posting in the car wash thread but would mirror the positive comments. I caught them at a reasonable time and was quite impressed. I got back home and gave it a quick once over with some quick detailer to give that extra sparkle.

Try Liquid Perfection in Knightsbridge, by far the best car wash in London. The attention to detail is unrivaled by the others I have tried and it is only a few minutes walk from Harrods.

Suspect they're quite a bit more than the £10 over the rainbow charge though. I still maintain its the best value wash I've had.

Can anyone remember when these guys officially open during the weekend?

Great job, but bugger me, do you need to wait for it on a busy day!

I've just left Liquid Perfection and no it's not £10, it was £50 inside and out, took just over an hour and despite the price I'm very impressed!

This is a stark contrast to yesterday's experience at a hand carwash chain who used something so caustic that I have large pieces of paint missing from my wheels and my really quite expensive red AP 6 pots now look decidedly milky!

It's going to get messy, I can feel it!

Changed hands at the end of last year - reopened after a six week (rough estimate) closure as Unique Hand Car Wash.

Made the mistake of taking the Rapid there, hoping it would be as good as before. It was awful - the place is basically a quick in-quick out scratch wash, but with snowfoam, but still charging Over the Rainbow prices - avoid at all costs I would say.

Yes, over the rainbow don't seem to be doing the same two buckets washes. There is an ok hand carwash next to Golden Wheel Aligment, about 5 minutes away from the over the rainbow site. They use Autoglym and will give you fresh cloths and buckets if you mention Chelsea Car Club. They are about a tenner too.

Hi everyone I'm a new member..

After like a week it's finally letting me post on here.. I went to this car wash recently and they've changed it completely.

Apparently you have to BOOK a car wash LMAO..

You heard me you have to make an appointment for a car wash. I woke up early and what not on my day off to go here to only be sent back home.

The website booking system they claim apparently isn't actually live till January 2016 so you have to either call or email..

It's £10 exterior
£10 interior
And £10 for some liquid spray wax I think

I tend to do interior myself as it's not rocket science using a Hoover.

So for £10 maybe once every month or two I'd go there, as we all know very well they are more or less the best car wash using the best practices.

Apparently they allocate an hour to each car which sounds good.. I'll definitely be standing around with my magnifying glass pointing out every little bit of dirt I see lmao.

Also if I do book it and I find I still have to wait for my car to be washed I will be furious.

Quite a lot of effort for laundering outfit (ooops, did I just say that etc).

They do a good job though.
