Apologies for the boring thread - I'm looking for some advice, as I don't know London that well! Ironically, I'm not actually going to Earl's Court, but I'm staying in a hotel nearby.

I could ... Park in Reading (gf lives there), pay approximately £30 for parking and catch the train into London. However by the time I've paid for two railcards, overall travel costs will be around £70! As this is PH, obviously I'd much rather drive in. Not taking petrol into account, I reckon it might be cheaper too!

The question is, does anyone know of a good car park nearby? If so, is it relatively safe and what sort of fees could I expect? Would you drive in, or just get the train?

Cheers! thumbup

There's an official EC carpark at Seagrave Road. It's just open ground, but plenty of people have left their cars there for multiple events during nights and not suffered. It's not cheap.

Which day/s of the week will you be there? Some relatively central areas have no parking restrictions from about 6pm on a Friday night all weekend.

Thanks Puggit, I'll check that one out now!

I'm heading there tomorrow night for a Birthday party, then leaving Sunday afternoon smile

ETA: Apparently the EC car park is for events only; you have to choose an event to book a place. I guess turning up and leaving the car overnight could be an issue ... ?

You can (normally) park on a single yellow then; I'd ask with the hotel how easy it would be.

I've just called the hotel and they have suggested the Holiday Inn Kensington for parking! Forgive me for my lack of knowledge, but isn't it a bit rude to park at a hotel you're not staying at? I can only find prices for 12 hours, which is £33. However the Millennium Gloucester is nearby, appears on Parkopedia and is apparently £37 for 24 hours ... Bargain! biggrin

You can park in the street outside my flat, less than a 10 minute wall to EC (and very safe). Email me and I will give you details.

A little late now but 6 years ago when I lived there, you could park on single red lines from Friday at 7 ish until Monday morning. Not sure if this is still the case now.

Hi all, just resurrecting this thread as I'm travelling by car to the Earl's Court area tomorrow and having trouble deducing whether the car parks at Earl's Court are still open or not (as I understand the exhibition centre has now closed). Does anyone know whether the car parks are still open or, alternatively, have a recommendation for another (reasonably priced) car park nearby? Thank you in advance.
