Mrs Eleven wants to go Christmas shopping in the big smoke next month.

We want to drive down, park and shop around the Bond St area. I don't want to go mad on the hotel £250-£350 per night is enough.

Any suggestions please?

I have spent an hour on Tripadvisor and for some reason it seems they are making it difficult for me to see hotels by rating. They're doing this "Especially for you" thing which the cynic in me says are the hotels they get paid most to promote.

Millennium Mayfair on Grosvenor Square - 5 mins walk from Bond St. May just be at the top end of your budget.

Raddisson Berkshire just off Oxford St - 2 mins walk from Bond St. Same comment applies.

Is your sofa on Tripadvisor?

Not yet. If people are willing to pay £300 per night for it though, I'll get it on there.

I'm there this weekend and again over Christmas. Hope it's what you're looking for!

Thanks. In point of fact it turned out quite cheap, which for this purpose is ideal.

There were odd fluctuations on the E bookers site, the hotel agreed to match the lowest price I found and then knocked about 15% more off because they had just started a promotion. Not sure what was going on, but we've paid budget hotel money.
