Staying in London near Park Lane tomorrow night for a works do and I was just planning on driving in and sticking the car in an NCP. But talking to a few colleagues today and they're planning on parking at Richmond and getting the train in.

What's the best option? Is the traffic going to be an absolute nightmare on a Friday afternoon?

The OH isn't keen on lugging her bag etc. on to a load of packed trains, hence the original plan to drive.

It will be crap and you will need to sort out Congestion Charge etc if you get that central.

Having said this when the wife had a works do in Battersea Power Station (huge marquee inside) I drove in. By doing so we didn't need to get a hotel nearby and could dress up in her finery at home - you really don't want to be walking around Battersea in a party frock in Februaryand trying to get to London on the train.

The traffic is hell you just live with it. In short - it's doable, I've done it.

It's normally OK coming in of an evening. Everyone's going the other way.

^^^ That. Maybe plot your route with a little thought, but the in/out roads will be chocka only on the way out.
