Whats Sydenham like for crazy people? My bank is practically handing me a low rate mortgage, property prices seem reasonable there and my dad needs somewhere to live so thinking it might be a better investment than sticking money in an ISA each month. Only problem is he suffers from high blood pressure so I'm weary of these state enabled entitled mental idiots that can't distinguish between right and wrong.

Sydenham's fine - moved here 3 months-ago and have a number of friends who've been here for years.

If you're looking for a 3/4 bed town house in upper Sydenham one of my friends is moving out (following work)... smile

depends what part of sydenham. Lower sydenham, sydenham or upper sydenham? Wells park area is a mini ghetto where as some of the roads off sydenham high street are very well off.

Sydenham is fine - up and coming so might be a good time to move. Been here 2 years myself, and transport to central London is excellent.

The only problem is trying to explain to people where Sydenham is...most people seem to be oblivious to South London.

Moved into the Thorpes just behind the High St last year. The area is well connected has good shops in the area or nearby but has less "nightlife" than other similar areas of London. Property prices are on the up.

I'd avoid Lower Sydenham probably.
