All, just a quick questions:

Just looking at the rules for congestion charge excempt cars, you need to be below 75g/km CO2 and Euro 5 compliant.

So, what about if you own a car that is not type approved and has no CO2 data on the V5? Who is the onus of proof on to prove it is either above or below 75g/km CO2 output? Proving Euro 5 compliance also, how can this be done on a non type approved car?

Does anyone have experience in this area, not finding much on google.

My Frogeye is Tax and MOT exempt, but I'm fairly certain that it's not Congestion Zone exempt. Furthermore, I think that when more draconian emission controls come in over the next few years, I may not be allowed to drive it in the congestion zone at all. Although I'm in Islington, a bit outside the zone, it's something that I'll have to live with I suppose.

Anything with no type approval is taxed as about or bellow 1400cc ( or 1499 can't remember).
What car's it for?

Mine has no CO2 data on the V5 but wouldn't risk it.

My guess is it's down to you to prove
It's taxed on the old CC system, and is in the higher bracket. It's an import from outside of the EU, so no EU data on it.

I spoke to a customer services person at CCLondon and they didn't know the answer themselves, so I've emailed CCLondon and directed the question at the discounts team, who deal with all the exemptions. I'll see what they say and report back.

Maybe not...

Discounts or exemptions

Historic vehicles

All vehicles that have a 'historic' vehicle tax class will be exempt from the ULEZ.

Pretty everything else will get charged....I stand to be corrected, but I don't think any diesel cars or vans currently on the road would meet the new emission controls and no petrol cars built before 1st Jan 2006. So that would be £12.50 on top of the CC if driven during the CC hours.

fking rip off.
