I am visiting the Houses of Parliament on Wednesday afternoon and wondered if anyone has any suggestions for a place to eat with my wife afterwards? Nothing too stuffy and it will be an early evening meal rather than a long late night dinner...

... and p.s. we have tried the OXO tower and weren't too impressed!

So it's good eh, always assumed it was a bit "touristy", unfairly perhaps.

You can go there for a early evening civilised meal then go into the west end for a show or club smile

Its a few years since I've been there, but it was good when I took my O/H.

Coincidentally that's been recommended elsewhere too.

Lovely Indian food (nicer than the Cinnamon Club in my humble view) with a Michelin star, but not cheap. They have a beer menu and some of the beers you won't believe. Highly recommended.

Also looks good. But don't stick to Indian although we like that.

At the other end of Whitehall, the restaurant at the National Gallery is relaxed with good views (if you get a table in the right place) and tasty food.
