I've got some work colleagues coming to London for a few days. Any suggestions/ideas on really cool pubs/restaurants they could go to, as well as places to see.

They're middle-aged (if that's relevant) smile

I'm really struggling to think of anything paperbag

We are mostly interested in ye olde pubs, and I want to go to a good Indian restaurant.

We both drink beer and wine, primarily. I love ales, in particular.

I think you will find this the perfect place dinner wise. One of my favourite places to eat in the world.

Of course if you are paying just take them down to Tooting Broadway - great pubs and great Indian Pakistani and other similar food.

Brick Lane?

As for things to see/do, could try London Duck Tours. Dunno if they're still sinking, though.

Cinnamon Club in Westminster is pretty good, we ended up there last year when Dinner by Heston had a power cut (still need to take advantage of the 25% off voucher and free glass of champagne that was offered for my next visit due to the inconvenience); great food, atmosphere and service and not too expensive either.

Foggs on St Martins Lane, retro quasi-victoriana and next to Covent Garden. Serves weird pies and the like.

I had three of them in the car a while back. Driving from Sheffield towards the Peak District, one of them pointed ahead and said "Hey, what is that round stone ahead?"

"It marks the boundary of the national park" said I.

"National park? We're going through a NATIONAL PARK? You have wolves and coyotes and bears?" asked he.

hehe...no, but we've got some pretty damn' wild sheep hereabouts.

Thought Gymkhana was a decent indian, quite a nice bit of town for some nice shops and all that too.
