Hi guys

Flying into city airport on Sat. and going to Classic car show in Excel , can anyone tell me - is Excel within easy walking distance of Excel ?
Heading into Central London after show , whats best way to get in ?
Anyone else heading to show ? no0t expecting it to be anywhere near as big as one in Nec but imagine its more upmarket.

Thanks in advance.

Excel is definitely within walking distance of City airport. One or two stops on the DLR. You could get the DLR from Excel to Canning Town and then from there change over to another line when you're heading towards the city afterwards.

Here's a link for the walk to Excel http://travel.stackexchange.com/questions/3690/is-...

DS197's covered the Excel part but for getting to central London a lot depends where you're trying to get to as the centre's quite big.

If it's around Liverpool St. station area then DLR to Tower Gateway.
If it's further west then DLR to Canning Town and change on to the Jubilee (despite what all visitors seem to think the Circle line's never a good idea).

Excel has a large amount of hall space but it's all in the one main building. The NEC is more spread out and far larger overall.
Excel also has an East and West entrance, so from the airport you can follow the route on the first map in the link above and the East entrance is at the front of the building marked ICC London.

excel is effectively 2 quarter mile long halls split by a central foyer.

i used to look after the fire alarm and pa system there so used to know it really well. my site pass meant i used to get into all the shows there. top gear live and boat show were brilliant.

ps. the most pointless post of 2016 goes to me yay!

Excel is a million Sq Ft! Worth find which end of Excel you want to be as there are two DLR stations for it. It is a pretty long walk if you're the wrong end.
