Go up and down the A40 regularly?

What are those new cameras being put up near the existing Gatsos? They are on a grey gantry, very high up, and are set five in a row.

They are probably the new ANPR cameras, which are also to be used for measuring ones emissions. There is a thread taking about them Here

They are also on the A312 and other main routes. ANPR and may be used for the new Low Emissions Zone enforcement.

I can assure you they are just "test" at the moment.

They are indeed ANPR. Quite what they will be used for is under review, but they are strategically in place for the LE zone enforcement, although that hasn't been signed off totally yet (despite the PR from KL)
