I was reading through the London part of the forum and noticed there used to be an East London Meet once a month.

I was just wondering if they still take place?

147GTA - you're right we used to hold them the first sunday of the month earlier in the year...

About time we scheduled another... I'll rattle a few cages....

Cheers,
John

Hi Chaps, I have been a bit busy doing the old buying and selling properties bit. What with that and the lousy weather I have restricted myself to the odd early morning foray into London wink

Still at least I now have a garage biggrin and yes I am still in the area albeit Essex not Docklands.

I will have a chat with Sy (busy doing the newly wed bit!) and see what we can organise

I'm up for a run (although sold the TVR, now in an old M3. Practicality sucks).

I just met the famous Ed Hasler on Eurohoon, he of the recently troubled TVR, and talked of just that. Next time there's some Wapping action, I'm hoping to come along.

Besides that, isn't it time for more London PH karting? Last time i went was over two years ago!!

I am now thinking Wedge as this will leave me lots of slush fund money. They really are a lot of TVR for £6-8K for a good-un def a future classic at the bottom of its depreciation curve. Just need to find the solid chassis variety.

Going to have to organise a docklands/east london type thing soon. Bit of a run into essex or kent and pub grub drink

I had no issues with mine, but maybe I was just lucky. there do seem to be a horrendous number of unfortunates out there. I wouldn't buy another one TBH. Not unless I could buy it on the cheap with a blown engine and swap something bullet proof into it. I could forgive it all the other faults if I was guaranteed it would get me there and back again, but I always felt I was playing with fire. Just my 2c, and am sure there a plenty of ppl on here who will tell you their car has been faultless.

I miss the thrill (the M3 isn't as special by a long stretch) but its not a bad compromise. I can't comment on the other TVR's unfortunately. If it were me, I'd keep the MR2 turbo but I guess we all get the itch every few years, right? wink
