Anyone tried it? The missus fancies somewhere 'special' for our anniversary....

I have eaten there numerous times, the food is a lot better than the reviews the place gets imo. It is a gastro pub so keep that in mind depending on how fancy a place you want to book for an anniversary. Also, make sure you book in advance as it always seems to be full.

I'm a regular - their Sunday roast is consistently the best I have come across.

However, do make sure you book WELL in advance. I called recently and was told that weekends had been booked up a month in advance.

Tried several times to get in there, but a smug voice has always delivered the "completely full" message. The last time was 10 days in advance, so I reckon you'll need to give it a good couple of weeks. I've always ended up at Wapping Food ~ which has now up-specced its food quality to somewhere approaching its price. Last time actually was rather good, so you know what to do if you get Mr Smug at The Narrow.

Wapping food is excellent and a completely diff experience to the Narrow, It's a proper restaurant. It's the old water pumping station in Wapping that has been converted, I Think there is a Warhol exhibition on there at the mo, so well worth a visit. Just don't drive if you have a low car as I nearly beached my car the last time I went on exiting the place!

Wapping Project.. nice friendly atmosphere and a huge walk-around gallery set away from the tables to allow some 'alone time' with that special person(s) wink

Ahhh, sorry, Wapping Project - yes fantastic place - they do a great Sunday brunch as well. Although Jools (red headed woman who owns the place) is a bit... errrm... quirky!

I'll second that. She used to be the creative director of the Sydney Opera House. Bonkers in a kinda arty way - especially now she's given up smoking and going through that snappy phase!

Thanks. Wapping project is probably better, but you know how the ladies are when they get an idea in their head (about going to the narrow!)... wink

Wapping Project is a vastly better dining experience than the Ramsays Pub.

I am local and have eaten at both several times.

She's not the owner.

If not her, then who? Her arty hubby perhaps? Or maybe this is one of those HSBC-type answers?
