Sod it. It is likely that I will be going for a quiet pint at Harts Boatyard in Kingston (Portsmouth Road). Okgo should be joining me. Email me for my mobile number if you want to join.
So did you go, did anyone else turn up?
No, had email problems so didn't get anything arranged in time.

I have a reputation for only organising things in my local, the Balham Tup! The line normally used is that it's on both the tube and the overland, and is so close to the station you can't possibly get lost. The real reason is that I can walk home in about 5 minutes!

Is Balham any good for anyone?

I'd also like to get out and about for a drive round with some fellow PHers but don't actually know of any decent roads around SW London.

Are you kidding?

Down the A3, off at Milford and you're into a godly playground.

Cool thumbup I shall have to investigate!

Don't think I've ever driven past Guildford going that way. Note to self: must make more effort...

ah yes the Tup. Drove past there this morning on the way to SE1 around 8am and the traffic was horrendous. How can you sleep at night with so much noise in such a busy area? Was also amazed at the number of pedal cyclists heading into town, a few - actually a lot of close shaves with some of them today. Will try hard to get them next timewink

I shall keep an eye out for you next time as I cycle to work! Mainly offroad over the commons though.

I actually live in the middle of a nice quiet residential area just around the corner with no through traffic (quite impressive seeing as I'm nestled between Trinity Road and Balham High Road). Surrounded by a whole host of speed bumps though ... it's probably only a matter of time before the 2 needs new shocks! They're a right pain but they do keep my road nice and quiet for sleeping scratchchin

Totally agreed - regularly down that way on the A283 and A286, interlinked by the A272. All splendid, especially early morning, and lead you to the spiritual home of motoring, Goodwood.
