Dunno but I live in the area and I like Kingston. It's a car hating borough, though. Parking permit required for a 5 mile radius of the town centre.

Hi there Huzz, Shadow is right, the parking round there is a bloody pain.

Kingston uni is meant to be a decent laugh. There a couple of clubs there (Works and Oceana) although the Student Unions aren't all that great. The town centre is decent with a good range of shops although it is quite an expensive place to live. I've got a few mates who go there, and they seem to be happy with it. If you do get halls then some of them have parking included.

Something to be aware of is that there isn't much in the way of student halls. So get your application in early for them and research some back up plans as well. I think a private halls is being built round near the John Lewis which is meant to be open in time for next year- although this is 3rd hand info. My gf is at Kingston uni but she is based in Twickenham, and some of her coursemates who wanted to live out have been forced to commute as they didn't sort private renting and didn't get a place in halls.

She should be living out next year though as they are based at the Kingston Hill campus next year, so I imagine I'll be about. Which campus are you going to be in? I like to meet some local phers once I'm back in London.

I used to be a student at Kingston Uni a couple of years back although I didn't stay in halls because it was too expensive and I don't live that many miles from Kingston. That said, traffic is a disaster around that area and it would often take me an hour to get to Kingston from Isleworth/Hounslow unless I left stupidly early.

In my first two years at uni the surrounding roads at the Penrhyn Road campus did not have permit parking or pay and display so as long as I got there early enough there would always be space to park but now it's all permit parking so there is no chance in hell of parking for free.

As for the Uni itself, they had completed the huge building project that was taking place at the uni, but the newer building around the back used for computing and engineering was a nice building. The library at Kingston hill was spot on for business students so unfortunately that meant I would often have to travel between both campus's (sp?).

It seems there are a few of us in the general area so perhaps a meet up would be good at some point? Also there are several hoons that take place in the Thames Valley area which isn't fair from Kingston at all and we welcome anyone to come and join us so long as they remain sensible. I have offered H Kan to ride shotgun with me before now and the offer is extended to anyone who wants to come along who may feel as though their car can't keep up.

That said, they are far more exotic cars than mine that attend these runs and they always seem to have empty seats up for grabs.

Robatron, thanks for the offer. Would certainly like to go on a hoon either driving or riding shotgun sometime soon. Was based in Liverpool until a few days ago, now I'm back in London for good as I've finished uni.

Huzz, the RV campus is near to Kingston Hill I think. It's around 3 miles from town though during the day there is a free uni bus. Also if that campus is anything like Kingston Hill then there is loads of parking. Lol, I've even got a parking permit for Kingston Hill for the year!

Anyway look forward to hooning/drinking with some phers soon.
