I will be there....once the date is confirmed. Is it the 16th or will it be at the weekend?
On the 16th. Expert local knowledge confirms an excess of garden centre numpties at the weekend.
Quite correct. I live less than a mile from there and at the weekend it's full of coffin dodgers and 4x4sdriving. The Plough is also VERY busy at the weekend if the weather's good.
Oh yes

I've heard that road gets nose-to-tail when all the wrinklys get their Micras or old Rovers out for a trip to the garden centre.

Are we fairly set on The Plough then? I've never been in there (only seen it from the road) is it going to be quiet enough for the best part of twenty PHers to turn up?

Both pubs are ideal. Free flowing traffic along the Ridgway, a very big car park, large decking, good beer and cheer at the Robin Hood.

Next time I am up at Chase Farm I will conduct a quick reccie at the Plough.

Good reconnaissance is seldom wasted.

Should be ok mid-week. There are plenty of parking spaces. It'd be great if the parking area to the left of the pub as you face it could be reserved for PHs;)beer.
Food is pretty good there and there's lots of room outside so all being well with t'weather it should be a great evening, if a little noisybiggrindriving

Awesome road... I think the best hoon in the area is to start by going up the B158 (after they've finished resurfacing it!) short cut over to Welwyn type area on the B1000 and then take that road (the B656) up to Hithin and then the B655 over to Barton Le Clay.

I've not been able to find a decent circular route, but that one's so good I'm happy to just turn back and do the same thing in the opposite direction!

Also a bit jealous of the Elise - I drove one for the first time over the weekend and I was just blown away by it, must be awesome on that road up to Hitchin.

Thanks Chris, will give that one a go. Or givus a shout next time you want some company on that one. I will figure out a return route, would be good to have our own Herts Evo Triangle. And yup the Elise, I too drove one for the first time a couple of months ago,

May just do that.

I wouldn't expect it to be a white knuckle ride though - I was merilly cruising along in 'said Lotus (an Elise SC), looked down and realised I was doing about 30mph more than I would be in the TVR on the same road!

Psst, Chris. Go North on the A6 through Silsoe, turn right onto the A507 and head across past Shefford and Henlow to Baldock. At Baldock stay on the A507 towards Cottered and Buntingford. This section is awesome (but don't tell everyone) At Buntingford you can hop on the A10 and hotfoot it home or you can continue on the B1038 to Newport and then South to pick up the M11 at Bishops Stortford.

Ghostdriver. You would like a hoon organised? You don't know what or who you are dealing with here.

It took us two years to arrange one measly meet up in a pub with no food in the rain! Multi tasking is difficult for the average N.London PHer it seems. It's well beyond me that's for sure. wink

Why don't you start a seperate thread about a hoon? I would be up for that and would be amongst the first to put my name down for it. Probably just after Chris71 who seems to be perpetually hooning about in his S3.

By having a seperate thread going, a route could be developed for us to use and it would keep confusion over dates, attendees etc at a minimum. (confusion amongst N.London PHers seems to be common smile )

As someone famous once didn't say,

"Post it and they shall come".

Go for it Ghostdriver!

So, that would be roughly 50mph would it Chris?
