May just do that.
I wouldn't expect it to be a white knuckle ride though - I was merilly cruising along in 'said Lotus (an Elise SC), looked down and realised I was doing about 30mph more than I would be in the TVR on the same road!
So, that would be roughly 50mph would it Chris?I wouldn't expect it to be a white knuckle ride though - I was merilly cruising along in 'said Lotus (an Elise SC), looked down and realised I was doing about 30mph more than I would be in the TVR on the same road!
I can't repeat exactly what speed it was, but it was over a lepton.

WHEN ARE YOU GUYS GONNA SORT OUT A NORTH LONDON HOON???
Ghostdriver. You would like a hoon organised? You don't know what or who you are dealing with here. All this talk of drinks & meets...
WHEN ARE YOU GUYS GONNA SORT OUT A NORTH LONDON HOON???
It took us two years to arrange one measly meet up in a pub with no food in the rain! Multi tasking is difficult for the average N.London PHer it seems. It's well beyond me that's for sure.
Why don't you start a seperate thread about a hoon? I would be up for that and would be amongst the first to put my name down for it. Probably just after Chris71 who seems to be perpetually hooning about in his S3.
By having a seperate thread going, a route could be developed for us to use and it would keep confusion over dates, attendees etc at a minimum. (confusion amongst N.London PHers seems to be common )
As someone famous once didn't say,
"Post it and they shall come".
Go for it Ghostdriver!

Its up to me then? Right.
I do have shed loads on at the moment, but yes, will get on it after I meet everyone at the next drinks.
Would be happy to lend a hand and/or reccie, but I'm going to be a bit busy for the next few weeks.
I think the B656 and the B158 are definites. The B1004 (Hertford to Bishops Stortford) is an awesome road in places, but possibly a little out of the way. The '656 is one of my all time favourite roads - it's like being back home in the sticks. You can almost hear the banjos. I know I've plugged this before, but I went out exploring for MSN a while back: http://msnukcars.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!9147D27F...
The only thing is there's no way I'm going to be able to keep up with most of the other machinery. Stereotypes dictate that I should be able to catch up with Blib's Italian-engined kitcar when it breaks down, but being in a TVR I can hardly expect to be there when it does.

Oi !!!!!A few months ago I was swapping a kit car (with a Lancia engine in it) for either a TVR or an Alfa Romeo.

More or less...In my defence the noddy-car styling actually worked a lot better in the flesh as they're tiny - Caterham sized, if that.
It went like the proverbial off a shovel too, care of a 2ltr twin cam running on twin 45s. It was also the nicest sounding 4 cylinder I've ever encountered.
It was 'focused' to say the least though - no windscreen to speak of, no hood, no tonneau, 'exciting' un-servoed brakes, no doors, no security features and catergorically no boot space! The idea was that something like the TVR would provide 90% of the thrill, but in something I could drive to work and/or park outside occasionally. It does so fabulously, and it stopped me tempting fate with an Alfa.
Shall I show you what Freddie v.R and me have been doing today while you lot have been slaving over a hot secretary?
O.K.
We've been playing about in this!!!!!
Don't believe me?
Here's Freddie behind the wheel! ( He wants to remain a man of mystery!).
And here's me!
It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it!
Chris, I prefer this one to your yellow one mate!

Hi Blib,
Just returned from Bucklebury. Glad you enjoyed the car. Pity the weather was so poor. LSU 534 will reappear in: Son of LSU 534, in about ten weeks time. Time for a return match hopefully. Oli is quite keen tocane drive your Stratos and Phil wants to have good rummage in your engine compartment. Ooh err missus.
No wiper and pouring with rain! What an excuse.
PS - Thank you for the free nosebag. Much appreciated.
See you on the 16th.
ETA - Three for the price of one. I have this in wallpaper size if anybody would like a copy.

Those C-Types are sublime.
I think the Lloyd's Aston will have a competitor in the salavation stakes.
Might see if I can persuade my dad to come over and play at some point. The reason I've got a bit of a fascination with '50s sports racers is I grew up with one of these...
...which I believe shared La Sarthe with the first C-Types.

Have we decided on The Plough now?
I did a spot of research yesterday on The Robin Hood. It does indeed have a mahoosive car park (although completely jammed at 2pm on a Sunday!) There's also a very big garden, but sadly the too aren't linked in any way. If food is an issue I found it rather pricey for competent-enough but very generic chain-pub fodder. It is a very good position for anyone coming in from the M25 though - even my sense of direction would cope with 'turn off the motorway, look for a pub on your right'.
