Had a good day, just followed RS4George home in his Atom.

Mastodon - if you turn the auto flash off on your camera then the pictures will be a lot brighter, it's underexposing as it thinks the flash will be brighter than it is.

Bummer. Wish I'd taken them on my phone, it's only 8mp but it has an autocorrect function which would prevent me having to put them through correction in photoshop.

Was RS4George's atom the one with the fancy airbrushing that was parked up by the Nobles and the Ultima GTR?

I saw a black Escort RS Turbo exiting the club grounds like it was on a rally stage
I saw that one coming in. Sounds fantastic!

It was a good show. It was a shame it was so windy, and the jazz singer was a little too loud. But overall there were plenty of good cars there and it didn't rain buckets like in 2010!

My favourite car of the day would probably the 'for sale' Sierra Cosworth 4x4 from the Cleveland RS Owners club. I would be surprised if the owner hadn't sold that car by the end of the day. It just looked superb. There was also a whaletail Sierra Cosworth in black that was immaculatedly finished, I saw that leaving and to see and hear a Sierra Cosworth on the roads is still a true 'time stands still' moment!

The suprise hit of the day for me was the white Mercedes 320 SL R129 that was sat quietly on it's own near the front. It looked absolutely superb and I found it most captivating. I'm planning on buying an R129 SL in a year's time or so once I've moved house and settled down so I found it most enjoyable to look over it in minute detail. The fact it was white with a blue interior (my least favourite colour combo outside of anything in Beryl Blue) didn't stop me having a good look. On one hand, you could just look at it as a stylish GT coupe with a nice straight 6 under the bonnet but it is a real marvel of engineering.

The Lancia Delta Integrale was a nice looking car too, and the Lancia showing overall was excellent.

Behind the obvious Sierra Cosworths, the Ultima GTR is another notable highpoint. It looks like a real hoot, though it appeared as though the gear shift was on the right hand side of the driver next to the door! The 550M struck me as the highlight of the Ferrari collection; rarely seen on these roads but utterly stunning.

And then there was this hidden away outside!

As has already been mentioned, part of the fun was watching cars coming and going! Whilst I was waiting for the train home I stood next to the Indians at the train station and watched cars coming and going. There was a little orange Caterfield type bike engined car that sounded amazing when it left. Even once it was out of sight I heard the almighty screech of wheelspin as the driver pulled back onto the main road.

Didn't know the new dealer franchises had been announced by Lotus. How much stock have they got in?

Speaking to the owner yesterday it would appear they've had the good news, but may take a while for things to kick-in, so probably watch this space.

ps to the owner of the custom orange painted mini X* GGT who turned up and left early... on a morning when you turn off the central motorway, it's the LEFT hand lane you need to turn left, sorry if the queue of traffic slows you down, but show some consideration, there's a good boy.

Don't get me started on that dynorod orange wrapped mini, I see it all the time in Jesmond/Gosforth always being driven like a complete twunt usually in 30mph residential areas.

I was speaking to some friends who are police officers yesterday about the Dynorod Mini, as one of them is quite into her Mini (owned a JCW, now a Cooper S). They knew instantly which car I was talking about so it seems it's not the first time it's been seen driving badly. It was just driving off the field as I was arriving, I have seen it before, probably in Jesmond.

Silverlink got the heads up last Wednesday, the official launch day is the 1st July, stock coming through all the time, keep on checking the website but if there is anything specific you are after give them a call & they will do their best to get it for you. They have already taken an order for a new Elise smile
