Absolutely positive it was a Merc, just not sure which model, and quite a distance from the Durham county border at Chester-le-St junction. It was on the A167 Durham Road side of the Angel, rather than the A1.

Was so far removed from my usual "is that an undercover police car" radar that I thought I'd add it to this thread.

One of the blue Octavias, NX58-something, was busy nicking someone on the M27 a few weeks ago.. yes, the M27 in Hampshire, 300 miles away. I wouldn't have given it a thought apart from the reg. plate. I also once saw the same car doing warp speed up the A1 in Lincs. late one night but ignoring other cars doing similar speeds; maybe it gets shuttled around different forces and was off-duty at the time (or was on a drug-dealer intercept mission)...

I am 99.9 % certain it would not have been the same car, unless of course you can confirm it was the same full reg? Police vehicles tend to be supplied in batches and the prefix on the plate isnt normally the local one. Therefore theres probably skoda police cars all over the country with the NX58 prefix.

Its a Hampshire Police car, all of their unmarked ones have "foreign" plates, or so I'm told.
There is a blue one kicking about up here, along with a couple of black ones and a red...

Oh well, there you have it. I must have misread the last bit of the plate.

Champagne gold Freelander and black RR, both with very dark tinted windows, in convoy, both on blues, no sirens flying down Yarm High Street about 10.30am.

Just clearing the way for the invasion by the travelling folk this evening. Lock up your daughters (and more importantly, garden sheds and garages).

Caught off-guard by this one, something small-ish and blue, plate starts HG13 or HG53, tanking over the Tees flyover yesterday AM with concealed blues and sirens going...

If you're close enough to be reading the plate, it's probably too late anyway.

Maybe I just need new glasses then.
