I know mine is ok at the moment, Bob's has just had it's little "service" but is presently sitting on railway wheels, Byff's is grand...

Hows the wedge Dexy?
Did you get the electrical gremlins sorted of the Elise Wendy?
I guess the engine work didn't go so well for CougarAce?
CBDave had anything else pinched of late?
Whats Wedg1e working on nowadays
Has DieselNut and W1D* managed to get the Robin Hood on the road yet
Didn't MickC have problems with his a while back?
...

The problem was only a broken wiper, but since the 'lise only has one it was a bit tricky. It was doing ve..rr..y... sl..ow.......wi...pes, but was drivable. I booked it in to the dealer for repair, and asked hubby (FlexitimeMan) to take it in.

Unfortunately, the damn thing gave up completely half a mile from our house, so he was left with driving it to the dealers with no wipers, and in the p155ing rain. He said he'd never been so scared in his whole life.

F1 fixed it under warranty, but asked if I pressure-washed the car (which I don't -- WASH the car??) because the motor box was full of water. Hopefully the new box will be better.

Feel a little guilty cos I promised Dex I'd help with his welding, but as usual I'm a crap mate and didn't

Dieselnut is under the thumb now so no Robin Hood this side of the next millenium, I'd say

My TVR is laid up for winter, the Lotus will be too next week once the tax runs out. It's almost as bad a car for visibility in winter as the 390SE, I'm not suicidal. May tax it early in the new year, depending on the pennies. I have a few things in the pipeline that are bigger priorities than cars at the mo, and with work lately I doubt if I've done more than 100 miles in the Esprit since the last trip to Shaftoe's.

I did London to Manchester and Manchester to Newcastle in the rain with no wipers. RainX!! Always very handy.

I am preparing to go back South, for a nice set of silicone hoses from ACT for the car for Christmas. Then fittment of some Griff/Chimera hood struts. But depending on how my job goes I may sell up in the spring, after I buy either a Elise, VX or Griff. If things are really good Cerbie!... Ok, well maybe not but I can dream.

The main thing is that I get my mini back on the road.

Mine gets a full wash & polish today before being locked away for a couple of weeks.......

also had me dust caps nicked off the wheels by a 7 year old. Caught him in the act, so he will be 'off school' for a few days ( little Bas%ard).

Hi - haven't been around much for a while and missed last Shafto's meet due to work commitments - anyway, the vertically challenged beetle was in the garage getting its recurring brake judder problem sorted. Appears to be resolved (for now) - just haven't had a chance to drive it much (busy weekends, cold dark nights) and in every other department, in rude health.

Will try to make pre-crimbo meet if there is one?

My new wheels, brakes, flanges, etc should arrive on Monday. Hope to get it built w/c 6th Dec. Will need to go easy for a while because, due to circumstances beyond my control, I have to fit slippy Toyos. Still, once there have passed the danger zone they are quite grippy.

The TVR is pretty sorted at the moment apart from the wiper which parks on the wrong side and I think I've mauled the radiator neck. Topped it up this morning in the dark and had great trouble getting the cap to fasten tightly.

The Corvette is champion, but feeling sad that noone is interested in buying her

That was the coil giving up the ghost, and was a while back. New coil and ignition module from Hexham and good as new!

Only problem right now is the lack of driving weather! Oh and an occasional oil leak (only a drop) which will need the gearbox out at next service if I want it fixed...

BTW, anyone know what a CV boot is?

cv = constant velocity joint. Looks like a UV joint, only articulates more

It allows your wheels to have full suspension travel and steering without losing the power from the driveshaft.

The boot is the rubber bit which goes over the top of it

Like I'd know what a UV joint looked like....

Did someone say joint. A joint is like a splif. Best used in the company of your friends but not your family.

haven't had anything nicked (touch wood), but the 205's on the road (wahey!)

mind you, I heard a metallic rattle/blowy noise, so poked my head under the back of the car only to find that the welds that hold the tailpipe to the backbox have cracked, and as such I have a comedy poseable tailpipe!

another one for the magnex lifetime guarantee methinks!
