Don't think it has to be fair
What I seen last night was, by the majority, mutual respect, youngsters fair enough but they were there to see the good motors and enjoy the atmosphere. A few hotrods in a corner wouldn't have had the same atmosphere which on the whole was calm and respectful. We parked as always the other side of the car parking area, enjoyed the chat, didn't leave until well past 10pm chatting to folks about their cars and the work they've had done etc
Most of the revving engines, those who left with gusto etc etc wasn't those in hot hatches - occasionally they were accused wrongly. Nice to point fingers

I'm 50 50 on this - I agree that there are a few too many s
te hot hatches turning up...come to think of it, some aren't even hot or even warm...I'm sure I saw a group of Nissan Micra's!...and their owners seem more likely to do something daft that ultimately might lead to problems but at the end of day they are all enthusiast out to enjoy themselves?
The same or similar happened or is happening with the 'Specialist cars of Malton' Breakfast meetings.
The thing I like about the Metro meet is that its not all one marque or club and I enjoy looking at the different cars, from classics, to rods, to sports cars, moderns, etc and chatting to the owners - even if the fast 'n' furious stuff is not to my own personal liking, why shouldn't they turn up?
What is puzzling is why they would want to mingle with old classic's and American muscle? If they want somewhere to show off their P&J why not organise their own meet with 'like minded' enthusiasts?...and I don't mean Tesco's carpark at 2am!
The orange esprit is bloody lovely by the way - it would be a shame not to see it again...and the 442 was great (just googled to find out what 442 stood for...cool)

I'm with Pete on this, most of us were teenagers with crappy hatchback once but it would be a real shame if the idiot element led to firmer action from the Metro Centre management.
Most of the people attending are just normal car enthusiasts, the problem comes when people start doing semi-donuts outside the entrance door to Toys-r-us like the clown in the silver M5. As I was leaving there was already one Police car present with it's blue lights flashing so I'm not confident that this event will be allowed to continue......

Just my observation and personal opinion based on what I saw on the night. Unfortunately in 2009 the same stupid behaviour was almost the end of the meet but some persuasion and a few emails kept the meet going. If the idiot element insist on showing people how fast / loud / spinny / smokey their cars are or can be then yes it will be the end of the meet this time. Im not saying that all younger people are idiots christ my daughter goes and shes 21 and certainly not an idiot although with her 5.4 v8 and around 300bhp she could certainly do some daft things. As with all things the minority ruin it for the majority. Agreed.Tell you what mind hearselover...that's some collection of vehicles you have...Must be some garage! Lucky man.
Second Wednesday of the month.
The meeting on the 14th May was MUCH better than in April. It was very busy and with a decent range of cars.
I wasn't going to bother going after last month but I was glad I did when I got there. Murder getting parked but I hit lucky when a family eating at Piza Hut left and I was able to park my Corvette in their vacated space next to Andy Robinson's 1970 Dodge Charger R/T.
It seems all it takes is a little bit of warm sunshine to bring the cars out in large numbers. Fingers crossed we get more nights like that.
