Hi all
got a back lane which I'm responsible for and own, but right of way for neighbours access..
I had issues with big holes and general order of place, and when it rains get some big puddles forming..
I have had the holes done with concrete etc, as the car exhaust was catching! but I have a storm drain that struggles
when it rains heavily.. had a guy here today with big bendy rods ( he is not a pro drain guy) and the storm drain is about
6-8 foot deep, got water in it and thick with mud and silt.. after much jamming with rod, the water aint moving..
the run off pipe from this drain to a side drain that meets a pipe from the house had a block, and thats all fine, a plastic bag!
but this is above the level of the deep water so only comes into play when drain full, as water is still in the drain, presume
its not going anywhere.. I think in past the neighbours had tried with not a lot of success, but don't think they used pro company
and just the rods by the sound of it.. I'm hoping when mud and crap is cleared it may imporve....
therefore I think a need somewone with some sort of mega equipent to clear / suck out / blast through / nuke the pipe?

just wondering if anyones any experience, or advice and idea of costs for this? looked on Dyno rods site, but not 100% sure whats needed, or if any good local companies maybe?

thanks

Are you sure your fully responsible for it? The water companies are now responsible for a lot more than they were a couple of years ago.Might be worth checking if you haven't recently.

thanks Chaps
Jet washer won't do it, it needs to be something with power or suction added, and its very deep to get access to
also ram the rods in as it were! isn't doing anything further.

does anyone know what sort of rough cost it is?

and Lofty, yes pretty sure its my responsibility, back lane is in a bit of a mess on the road as well as it isn't council maintained... we never ever get any maintainence people etc around the back... if I was here enough and caught someone in main street would bung a few quid to have a look!

I have erm, interesting drains, and the last bloke who turned up to flush the little devils had a ginormous jet wash thingy that fired itself down the drain like a erm, rat up a drainpipe. Wonderful thing smile Might be worth ringing around to see who has one. They fire water ahead as well as behind, so unless it's full of bricks, it ought to shift it.

I use Aimrange for work jobs, based in Cramlington so not far away. They've got all the machines to do the job, just describe the problem or ask for a free survey. I use them at work and there's nowt they can't shift. Last time I used them it was around £68/hr + vat, 01670 369444. Let's know how you get on (we can talk drains on Sunday)

nice one rocket, will do...
to be fair the rain over next few days will be good to see how things go.. good news is the jiggery pokery with rods has helped
but I do need bit more concreting and some round the drain, as bits of rubble and dirt get washed in there, and its needs a good clear, hopefully that sorts issue and helps stop re occurance..
