What car? This bit is rather important!

I had my modified Astra VXR mapped at Evotune in Durham, but that was a custom job done on a Dyno, and a he did a very very very good job of it.

Probably best off looking on an owners club for recommendations, if it's an N/A model I guess you'll be looking at a custom job, and as you said most people will be saying don't bother.

This doesn't sound like something any old garage with a laptop and generic maps off a CD can deal with.

I had both my BMW's 123d and a 330d re-mapped by RS tuning in leeds. They have a rolling road so can give you before and after dyno runs......But dont get to hung up on Dyno printouts as they can be easily fudged by the dyno operator.

Revolution247 in Gateshead do the 118i. Seem like a good place when I was on the hunt for some parts for my old 200 coupe (to the point of them even approaching the original manufacturer, Scorpion in this case, to see if they still had the old exhaust patterns).

What are you hoping to achieve from mapping it?

As in more accessible torque or a less jerky throttle response? Not being an arse just intrigued as to why.

Better throttle responce and the engine is typically staved or fuel, to get thro emmisions, at the lower end of the rev range making the car jerky

Macdonald Racing used to have one, but now they've become Beamish Morgan I'm not sure.
