Afternoon All

I'm looking to get my BMW serviced (Vanos Seals) I don't want to go to the main dealer due to their high prices. does any one recommend a garage for this work?

I have tried on the BMW forum of this website, but I don't think there are many people from the North east on there.

I've not used this place before but my brother swears by them. He's had various German marques over the years. Based in South Shields.

http://prestigegermancars.co.uk/ (Hope this doesn't break any advertising rules, I'm not associated with this place at all.)

Unfortunately I could not disagree more with Toon10's recommendation but I will say no more on that subject !

I had vanos seals done on my E46 and heard very good things about dean at DW Motorworks in Winlaton Mill, Gateshead.

Cheers

There's a master M technician on the way to Rowlands Gill, come off the A1 at ikea, head for Rowlands Gill, pass the rugby club on your left, just over the lights there's a petrol station/car wash/car sales place on the right.

Randomly he's in there, I think he's called Dean.

Dean at DW Motorworks as the previous 2 have posted. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I back that comment - good for BMW and Audi. Used them for 8-10 years.

There is a guy in Darlington that is a vanos unit specialist and has developed upgraded parts to rebuild them better than OME. He's called Mr vanos or the servicing part of the business is called BMWorx.

A massive vote for Dean from me too. He currently has my X5 for a gearbox service and a few other jobs. Can't recommend him enough. Top guy and doesn't rip you off. A massive relief to have that for a change as the last few garages I have used have left a bad taste in my mouth.
You can't really argue with his experience (he's a former BMW master tech) so he has the knowledge, tools and computers to get the job done properly.

I've recommended Dean on plenty of other threads. He knows these cars inside out and is a lovely guy. He works alone so is sometimes hard to get hold of but persist as he is worth knowing if you run a BMW.
