Tyne bridge buslane

Is this monitored by camera? Last night central motorway closed diversion over swan house roundabout so I just drove straight across. But now I'm thinking maybe the diversion wasn't to use the bus lane but elsewhere ? I would' never use that bus lane normally and panicking..

I'm very sure it isn't. Been through it myself several times if I've been in a rush and never heard anything.

To get on the Tyne bridge from the Swan House roundabout you are supposed to go 'left' toward the quayside, around pandongate house and then back up toward the Swan Hse Rdbt and stay in the left filter lane.

There is a camera facing the 'bus/taxi lane' direct from the roundabout to the Tyne Bridge.

Whether it is in use or not is anyone's guess, but it is there.

Judging from the number of people who cut round that way each night I doubt anyone is getting fined for it.
