Stang is a good road but was better when all the trees hadn't been cut down .

Whilst I will be in Santorini I can't make this but surely you should be heading for hartside pass.

Unquestionably the best driving road in the NE from Alston to Penrith.

Never thought of hartside as a good road to be honest and very over hyped not a piticualy challenging road with bikes,Sunday drivers and idiots who overtake at stupid times . Better roads in the area IMO.
