Never thought of hartside as a good road to be honest and very over hyped not a piticualy challenging road with bikes,Sunday drivers and idiots who overtake at stupid times . Better roads in the area IMO.
Agree with that, good to do once or twice but not that great. Alston has 3 better directions to go in. One being the B6277 to Middleton-in-Teesdale which IS one of the best in England on a clear day.

Agreed, it's a good road but there are plenty I prefer.

Love that stretch, can be busy though with touristy traffic. the bit from Langdon Beck up to Alston is a hoot, did embarass a guy in a Z4 to pulling over to let me passed in the Trophy...

I have the advantage of working a few weekends which means I have days off during the week so when I decide to go out on a hoon its usually a lot less busy being the middle of the week.

Route coming Sunday chaps. I assume you all have an email link in your profile. If not, email me via here and let me know your email address.

Also, if there's any drop outs thus far, if you could let me know so I know who to expect on the day smile

Can you put me down as tentative - busy schedule ahead so can't confirm until nearer the time. Ta.

If I can make it, see you there. If I can't, hope you all have a great drive out and the weather remains good.

Big thanks to TRD for organising.

Hi all, got a route in mind, been trying to plot it in google maps, but somehow it doesn't seem as easy / is more restricted than it was, so I've had enough for one night. Will sort something out in the next couple of days for sure.

Try bing maps, found it much easier than google maps

There really needs to be a app that you simply drop way points on , share to people and just crack on . Be dead easy to have there location show up on the map to check peoples progress or lost folk ....
Every computer game has the same map hud for the last 15 year so it's time we had the real thing

What a cracking idea. You'd have thought Google Maps would be all over it, especially as they use crowdsourced data already for their traffic feed.

It's an odd one as even my old drone used google maps and you could drop way points on?!

But I've always struggled to plot routes having to resort to doing it in the office...

But now I can use Bmw connect and send it to my car coolcool

Its weird as you used to be able to do it on Google maps, but now you can only set about 8 destinations.

I did try bing and its slightly better for this, but even so, I cannot make my mind up on the route.

I have actually found a route though, I am not taking credit for creating it, but it incorporates many of the roads I wanted to use anyway, and on this occasion, saves me a bit of work, so I'll be emailing it to you all today.

I usually only have 2 maybe 3 destinations when doing any routes in Google then drag the route around from that.
