Going south on the A1 to my sisters today I saw a Chim, old Escort, Caterfield and a few other different machines heading back North. Was there a car show or something?

Doh!

there is a thread on here saying that. I would expect that it would have been about the right time for finishers as well - coming past Durham around 6ish. Certainly explain why the Caterfield was out today.

It wasn't bone dry all day but it was for the majority of it
There was a pretty impressive line up of machinery as well, along the lines of :-
