Hi all,

I have a nurburgring trip planned start of April next year.

Planning on taking my Caterham R500 with sequential so thinking on minimising the mileage in the car and limiting it to just driving from Amsterdam to the ring via a more scenic route.

Would be towing car down from Aberdeenshire and therefore looking for somewhere to leave the towcar/trailer safely near the newcastle ferry terminal whilst I'm over the water!

I've messaged a couple of caravan storage places with no luck so far so thought I'd cast the net a littel further with the help of Pistonheads!

Was thinking of towing hte whole way initially but a) ferry is 2.5times the price with trailer and b)my son that's coming with me wants us to drive the caterham at least some of the way for the 'experience'.

Cheers,
Dave

have you contacted the Newcastle ferry terminal directly yet ? They do cruises from here and they allow the passengers to leave their cars at the secure compound at the ferry berth area. i'm sure you could leave the trailer there.

Will do. Have just messaged them on their site so will see if I get a response. Failing that I will try speaking with an actual person laugh

Actually got a reply from the port today funnily enough.

They requested some dimensions and pictures of trailer to work out where they could find a space for me so seems promising.

Will report back when I have more details from them.

Think that's me all sorted following another reply this morning.

They are reserving me a spot at normal car parking prices so should cost £60-£70 for the time I'm away in the Caterham. For the convenience etc that's perfect I reckon and certainly towing the Caterham that first leg will save a bit of stress on the trip and of course will mean not sitting on the motorway to Newcastle for 5 hours with a straight cut sequential in a stupidly loud Caterham and I can now just plan my route from Amsterdam to the ring to make that leg interesting.

Thanks, Dave
