AFAIK they still have the Silver Octavia's (old shape) both marked and unmarked. They also have a new shape Octavia vRS in Metallic blue and a Focus RS in black.

However, in the last few months i've seen some real unmarked oddballs with sirens & lights on the A19. One was a Vauxhall Zafira and the other was some sort of small 4x4 (Vitara sized). I have no idea if these were Plod or possibly Lifeboat / Fire Crew etc.

Black Honda 4x4-sized thing, unmarked, concealed blues, blacked-out side windows.

Almost-unmarked white Volvo estate used in the roadworks at Surtees Bridge.

Further, there is one black and one silver brand new Focus ST. I drive a lot for my job so I get to see most of them! Never seen anyone pulled by these guys, but I've seen them charging about with concealed blues. The only way I could tell them apart from a normal Focus ST is the little blue repeaters on the back either side of the numberplate.

Another Public Service announcement...

Anyone using the A19 between Thirsk and Middlesbrough should watch out for a Traffic car hiding in a Farm access road behind one of the Roadworks signs.

He was there today pointing his little laser gun at all & sundry. Sadly for him i was killing time and only doing 60 rolleyes

that on the 50mph restricted spot under the bridge near thirsk? I'll be using that road for the next 2 days in me big red van, so i'd love to know, not that LDV can do much more than 50 furious

Just before the 50mph section. I was heading North and he was on my side of the road but no doubt they have a spot on the other side too.

The irony was, that while he was playing with his hair dryer, i'd passed a Turkish Trucker a couple of miles previous reversing back down a slip road...

Bumped up to add a silver Focus... not TrafPol but CID I think... **06 SYZ. The plan-clothes occupants might have gone a little more un-noticed if they'd turned their radios off in the pie shop...

I've seen the Silver Focus ST (not RS as this muppet posted earlier rolleyes ) operating with the ANPR van today. There was a marked up Octavia RS with it too.

I saw the Skoda Octavia in Middlesbrough on Linthorpe Road on 18th they didn't stay around when I got my phone out pointing at them.

Reg was NX16HXT, dark blue/black colour, could be metalic blue as mentioned earlier. Can't be 100% on the reg due to beer, my bad phone texting/typing skills and it being nearly 4am, but it won't be far off.

A few hours after the Tesco hold-up recently I spotted a black RangeRover with concealed blues in the front grille, s'bound A19 between Billingham, and Hartlepool... probably CID/ ARU but worth keeping an eye open...
Un marked MERC ML silver
Saw this in Eaglescliff today, it has a "Police" sign on the side of it but from the back it looks really sneaky- Tow bar! and some green hexagonal badge in the corner of the window, it really does not look like a police car!
