I've just replaced my leggy V70 D5 with a vastly more comfortable land yacht and now 'm usually wafting up and down the A1 from Alnwick to Jesmond.

My Chimaera taken at Naburn Lock in York in August. Sadly, the weather and DCC gritting schedule at the moment isn't conducive to TVR enjoyment so it is tucked up in the garage awaiting a fine dry day.

Always wanted a Defender since I was at agricultural college in the 90s Bought this 1995 300 Tdi - arguably the best engine LR made before going all electronic with ECUs and the like - has a massive history file but sadly, the rot has established itself on one of the crossmembers.

Body would need to be lifted to weld it so in for a penny, I have ordered a galvanised chassis. Problem is, there is a three month lead time and two sports cars are no good for the winter. I went and bought the cheapest Discovery with a full year MOT that I could find within 50 miles and ended up with this horrible shed.

The last owner was a chain smoker and someone has removed the thermostat so it runs cold. I will either sell it when the winter is over or scrap it and keep the wheels, axles, engine and gearboxes for the defender as spares. The cost of second hand replacements more than adds up to the price paid for the disco.

Richmond north Yorkshire. Mgf trophy 160 with Janspeed 4 branch and single pipe race box, direct induction kit, coil spring conversion, mtec grooved and dimpled discs with green stuff pads, poly bush and rose jointed suspension upgrades, Falken tyres all round. It's my everyday car and surprises quite a few drivers.
