A friend was driving down the A19 near Thirsk the other day and was passed at some speed by a RR evoque in white with blue and twos going, very discrete fitting of blue light.
There are a few of these around, as far as I have been able to tell there are high ranking fire officers cars. Well the black one near Bedale is as he lives in my village.Well if his car had any identifying marks on it or was even reg to the fire service I might not have, But you did look a bit suspiscious!

One night years ago, I saw a random black rover driving through whickham with blues flashing, not very fast at about 3am. I did a check on it and it was reg to some lease company. I then stopped it to see what was happeneing. Cue one very angry fire officer who couldnt see why i might have stopped him.

Not the first time it has happened and I would have done the same. It's not like a Doctor's car where it has a big sign! The fire house/fire officer cars have a roof sign on them. Really, the fire brigade should put a detachable roof sign on their car to make their identity obvious. But still worth checking, as you could probably buy one on Ebay! Also, an effort to identify the purpose of the driver would be worthwhile. I can recall a car crash near here from a few years ago where a fire fighter rushing to a job binned his car. He was quite able to force his way through traffic in a massive fire engine but apparently wasn't up to the same in his car. Luckily, no-one was hurt.Well if his car had any identifying marks on it or was even reg to the fire service I might not have, But you did look a bit suspicious!

No different to the mongs who put a folded up high vis on the parcel shelf of their car in the hopes that people will mistake them for an undercover car.
Could it be they just want to be a bit more visible to following traffic...?I saw a car the other day with "Pregnant driver on board" sign in the rear window . Presumably the idea is to make people hang back so they don't run into her. Which wouldn't be so bad but her driving was cack: you can't expect others to give you special treatment if you can't do the simple things (like indicating) correctly yourself.

Silver NX plated Ford Galaxy I just flashed to merge on to the A66 east from the A19......
Pulled along side at about 50ish and
trundled alongside until he pulled off to HQ at the roundabout, and the Cupra Type R inside me, infront of the Galaxy took off like a scolded cat !
Galaxy or S-Max? There was a light-coloured one loitering around the old Motive Power depot early this morning.Pulled along side at about 50ish and
trundled alongside until he pulled off to HQ at the roundabout, and the Cupra Type R inside me, infront of the Galaxy took off like a scolded cat !
Handily, like some of the other cars, its reg runs in sequence with some of the marked units, ended in DLO...

They are still rolling around in old tatty Ford Focus' too.
A red "NX" plate Focus, one wheel trim missing, and an 'ickle' rear view camera in the back window.
A66 / Ormesby bank roundabout this morning on the way to work.
They've at least a couple of non-ST Focuses (Focii) - with repeaters in the front grill and NX plates, I believe they're not on roads policing, but the usual "don't drive like a donut" applies. There's a red Focus estate too...A red "NX" plate Focus, one wheel trim missing, and an 'ickle' rear view camera in the back window.
