Here's an odd one.
Driving through Kirklevington, en route to the A19, a silver Hyundai i30 estate, with towbar,. NX plate etc two cops in fluorescent vests etc....

An ex-traffic copper told me that Northumbria have decommissioned their unmarked cars. Could this be true?

This one and the marked one just to the left came and poked around us as we had a little meet in the Windmill car park back in March. Kids got the copper to run the blues and they were all over it in every gap!

My first check I make ! And to quote myself, I threw on the Anchors today boooling up behind an NX plate 60 Reg Silver Octavia. Looked far to clean and straight. Passed at the speed limit. Look left : Pair of old pensioners

Then around the next bend was a marked car that had nicked someone; I had the impression that maybe the unmarked car had followed the target until the jam sarnie could do the pull and then pulled over to avoid being seen. Maybe I need a tinfoil hat

A friend was driving down the A19 near Thirsk the other day and was passed at some speed by a RR evoque in white with blue and twos going, very discrete fitting of blue light.

My first check I make ! I haven't read the whole thread, but I wanted to comment that NX reg plates are quite common and not reserved for the Police. I have got one on the Co. Car!

My old 1.8T vRS was on an NX plate. It got rather annoying when people would come tearing up the outside lane only to clock the plate & anchor up Before i bought it i had a test drive in another NX plated car...which went out to its new owner a day or 2 later and ended up with some very sneaky extra lights fitted My current TFSi vRS isn't on an NX plate....it still has the same effect on some people

sorry.
I notice the trend for big bikes to look like plod, and one trundled through Yarm today with obviously Blue side marker lights. Surely that is bordering on impersonation?

Stockton's "Enforcement Officers" are now pootling about on Pan-type bikes. I await the number of people panicking when they see them...

I tend to "make progress" where possible so there's no need to mistake me for Plod ambling about at Patrol speed but people still do it. I'm looking to swap to something a bit less plod-like next year so hopefully i won't have to put up with it much longer As for the bikes you're spot on. The amount of plain white bikes with white helmeted riders in black leathers is annoying.

No different to the mongs who put a folded up high vis on the parcel shelf of their car in the hopes that people will mistake them for an undercover car.

And I can guarantee you, whilst we all know there are unmarked cars operating all over the country, no copper would be as daft as obscure their rear view with the very thing they are trying to disguise (ie the fact they are police officers)!

There are a few of these around, as far as I have been able to tell there are high ranking fire officers cars. Well the black one near Bedale is as he lives in my village.
