The entry fee was a donation to the 'Help for Heros' charity, I hope your not suggesting that by waiting until last last few hours of the show, you were hoping to avoid giving to this charity? Shame on you....

Seriouly, Dave did a fantastic job with the organising, and the one thing outside his control (the weather) let him down. Had the weather stayed perfect, cars wouldn't have been looking to leave early. There was a great show of cars early on and it's unfair to suggest that the organisers should have either slashed the entry 'cost' or locked the gate to stop cars leaving.

No I wasn't trying to skive in without paying - and two of my sons are in the RAF so don't imply I was trying to avoid Help for Heroes!

When did you leave Paul? I got caught out in that REALLY heavy shower and got soaked, just started to dry out then it rained again, so picked my football up and went home, lip trailing on the floor. hehe

So Mr Mole, what camera do you fancy next...? I've just joined a camera club so I'm interested in what people are buying.

just as i walked in, some people had just finished drying their cars off, then it started raining again, i could see the frustration on their faces.

Well, excuse me, but it wasn't MY suggestion to slash tyres.... although a suggested cut off time for inclement weather/poor turnout whatever could have been suggested.

What I was trying to say was people arrived (in groups) much later than me when 'most' cars had either left or were on their way out. So whether they paid or crawled under a hedge to get in the number of cars to see was 'down'.

Not saying it hadn't been a great show but event organisers must evaluate events to make sure they are as good if not better the following year - even negative comments need to be aired - and I'm sure Dave would agree with that.

The problem with stipulating time restrictions is half the cars simply wouldnt commit to turning up in the first place, without the cars theirs no show so putting restrictions on is a no go from the off.

Everyone will have an opinion but this was a show that was the first in it's official format. Despite the weather there seemed to be a good number of people coming to the show to check out a huge selection of very nice cars. The debate about the weather and if there should be a refund can be balanced against the good cause the proceeds go to, what can you get for a fiver these days, and how many cars were left to look at once the rain eventually stopped. Many fine cars remained on the show field giving good value I'd say. I can understand owners driving off in their beautiful automobile if it was an open top, but for the rest once the car had become wet there was no real advantage in removing it from the show.
Dave and his team of helpers did a fanatstic job with the event, can't wait for next year.

In our eyes the event was a huge success,

We have raised a lot for 'Help for Heroes' the figure will be confirmed once all the bills have been covered.

I am sorry that anyone felt the show was not worth the £5 for charity, the only thing to let us down was the only thing we had no control over, The Weather ! A lot of cars did leave early, mainly Aston Martins but I had a walk around at 2.30 and there were still 5 Lamborghini's, 12 Ferrari's, loads of TVR's etc etc etc so still plenty to look at.

All feedback both positive and negative will be greatly appreciated as it is only with your feedback that we can move forward.

I think Fastlane can only go from strength to strength.

A huge thank you must go out to everyone who came along to the show and made the day possible, we had 306 cars registered and only around 45 were no show's which with the weather I think was a great turnout.

Let's make next year even bigger, with a bit of sunshine Im sure we can do it.

Nice one dave, a cracking day even with the iffy weather. Worth £5 everytime going to a great cause. Big pat on the back for organising such a big event that the North East always seemed to lack prior to your pub meets etc. I will be up soon for a pint and a catch up. thumbup

Unfortunately, I couldn't get there until 2.00pm and passed quite a few coming away....! So lots were missing and they were still taking £5 entrance! So a bit disappointed about the number of cars left behind... Don't know whether there should be a stipulation about when those on display can leave!
Ridiculous. Dave did a cracking job organising the day. As others have said, then entrance fee, about the same as 1 gallon of petrol, was for charity. Regarding the number of cars leaving early, of course they may prefer to leave given the weather conditions. These were mostly members of the public with their P&J contributing to a great day, you cannot stipulate when people can leave.

I'm sure all feedback is valuable, good and bad, but that view is a bit uncalled for in my opinion.

Dave - brilliant day, well organised, good turnout. Shame about the weather, but diving for shelter in the rugby stand was kind of fun. Looking forward to the next one. Big thanks.

As most people have stated 'well done dave' - top job!

Understand the frustration caused by the weather (for everyone) and possibly the comments about cars leaving 'early' but what can you do...? Even if the event was moved to the 'summer' the english weather is just so unpredictable! As stated...what do you get for £5 these days? Plus, it was for charity!

Some very nice cars - a credit to their owners - glad there are so many petrol heads out there in the NE!

Roll on next year!

Brilliant day Dave - well done !

I arrived late - about 2pm and was a tad alarmed to see loads of cars driving away from Corb. However, there was still loads to see - and we missed all the rain. By 4pm we were in the Dyvels beer garden, having a quality pint in the afternoon sun !

Defo worth £5 ...

Same goes for me, well done Dave for getting it going - enjoyed the day regardless, crappy weather can't be helped, skin is waterproof and cars can dry out. Sorry our other car was a no show but the missus was not well and i can only drive one, she braved the weather and came later with the mutt. Some fantastic looking and sounding cars on show, haven't talked so much for ages - least it finished dry and a good run home for most. - set a date for next year yet?????

Excellent trip out, thanks to all involved

Couple of pics here

I have more and will sort out posting up after i have just found out you can add them direct without having to load to flickr etc first !
Is there a thread for photographing/digital editing of cars ? There are obviously some very talented photographers out there looking at earlier posts, Mr Mole.....
How do you achieve the effect where the background appears darker then the subject, like a halo effect ? I am quite new to this and only have photoshop elements 6, so nothing flashy.
Anyhow, had a great day apart from getting stuck under a fast deflating detailnortheast canopy, he he..
