Haha yeah sorry just been searching everything and anything and came across this forum topic!

No we stopped selling cars about 3/4 years ago. But we still have bits and pieces every now and then!

I am told we have had a 911 2.7 RS a yellow diablo and a pink countach. These are the photos I really want to try and find!

I have found a few of the countach.

Cheers,
Sam

I used to love your place, as a kid I would ride my bike from bulwell with a mate to look through the windows in the evening smile

Hi Sam, my dad had a shop on Wollaton Road called Billy Grays near the Lloyds bank.
I remember Kip coming in and asking me as I was in the motor trade where he could get that pink Lambo painted.
I recall the story of how the original owner picked that pink grey combo too. They painted it White to help it sell faster

Deans of Nottingham which I recollect had a showroom on the Hucknall/Bulwell junction. They always had a wide selection of cars on show and the salesman in there that I spoke to was excellent.

Anyone remember the name of the dealer on Mapperley Plains that is now a Sainsbury's store. I bought a white Mk2 Golf GTi from them back in the 1980s.

RE: Sainsburys, there's one on the Plains just before you get to Spring Lane, it used to be a Budgens for 10-15 years, I don't ever remember it being a car showroom though, I grew up across the road in the 80/90's just a bit further up between Spring Lane and Podders Lane.

There used to be an independent VW garage just opposition from the old Carlton pub in Carlton, the premises used to be owned by a custom car builder called Pete Ferris who built novelty cars amongst other things for seaside resorts (giant ice creams and cartoon animals IIRC) He also built from a scratch a 20's styled droptop coupe for my old man in the early 80's.

I reckon the Mapperly dealer which is now a Sainsburys is the old Vauxhall dealer - Sharpes? It's the one amongst the shops, not near Spring lane. Became what is now Pentagon at the back of the old Home Ales brewery on Mansfield Road.

The SAAB garage on alfreton road/talbot street.
Beechdale??

Or were they also linked with Technico Fiat?

Yes thats it Beechdale, been boarded up for a few years now.

Hooleys on Derby Road, now Budgens.
Yep, Beechdale Saab, the best friend worked there in sales. And a second mention RE Sytner when they were on Huntingdon Street. When in my teens I used to window shop there whenever in 'town' (as we used to call Nottm) downstairs they had an exotica car lot, always something interesting/ supercar for sale. Remains the only place to date that I've seen a 959!

I remember now, it was at the top of Breck Hill Road, I lived in Redhill for a couple of years and took the bus past it most days to school.

There was a Hooleys on Derby Road and one on Lougborough Road in West Bridgford.

Bought a few cars and several vans from them.

Wow this thread takes me back.

I vaguely remember a Rover Specialist on Radcliffe Road - Zispers? Also, wasn't there a Small Ford Garage in Radcliffe on Trent - Lamcote?
