I reckon the Mapperly dealer which is now a Sainsburys is the old Vauxhall dealer - Sharpes? It's the one amongst the shops, not near Spring lane. Became what is now Pentagon at the back of the old Home Ales brewery on Mansfield Road.
Gorse hill garageLater they sold Mazdas from there
Remembered another. Hutchinsons Volkswagen. Where Europcar rental is now on the corner of Mansfield road And Mellors road

Has anybody got any pictures or recollections about T Shipside - I understand that they had a hand in building the Tollerton airfield. I ask as I am collecting info about garages that at some point in their history sold Triumph or Standard cars - the Newark branch of Shipside sold Triumph cars.

Tom Shipside lived on Oxton Hill. My grandfather knew him and bought a new Wolseley 4/44 from him in 1956Shipsides moved from Huntiington Street to Lenton Lane in the late 1970s

J28 fast ford or RS Ford I think it was called. Used to drive up there in my beat up nova to look at there cars for sale. Only sold RS Ford’s. Used to dream of owning an RS500 or RS200. Alas I will never be that rich.
I can remember this dealership, it was called J28 and as you say, seemed to specialise in Ford RS cars (Cossies in particular). Can remember going to J28 a few times, it was near Pinxton, strangely never to look at a Fast Ford, always a ///M BMW of some sort, remember looking at one car and although interested in buying was refused a test drive as they had just fitted new tyres and didn't want the stickers wearing off.

Junction 28 moved to near the train station at alfreton at some point. I can remember going in as a teenager and it was fantastic.
There also used to be Speeds at Alfreton, which was Volvo and Rover, Tesco is there now. Also in Alfreton there was Parkin & Jones Peugeot. It’s a co op and petrol station now.

I remember Wheelhouse being on Plains Road, Mapperley but I am 75. Houses there now.
I only remember Wheelhouse being on Nuthall Road near 'Kamikaze Island' as it was then, now a Halfords. My dad bought an E30 325i BMW from Kings Motors on Westdale Lane though, he'd gone in to look at an MR2, not much difference.
And Goulders at Mapperley, was a regular up there during my Lancia ownership days, although mostly the parts department on Porchester Road, where the showroom was is now a Sainsburys.

I'm not so sure it went to Australia, unless that has happened in the last six years or so..?I saw the car in pink a few times back in the day, then what I believe was the same car in white a few times afterwards, still with the navy blue interior.
The last time I saw it was at a Lamborghini club meeting in Kent, but not sure exactly what year.
After quite some digging tonight I've found a few photos of what I believe is the Countach in question.
This is at Brands Hatch in June 1994.
And at Hever Castle, Kent, a bit longer ago than I thought, in August 2009. Now with white wheels and mirrors.
