I've been doing some research into that picture that Roger showed us and the setting looks like the Tripoli Grand Prix. I would need to take another look at the structure in the background but I believe it's the same structure that used to sit on the start and finish straight opposite the grandstand.
The cars look like Scuderia Ferrari Alfa Romeo Tipo-B P3 which leads me to believe it's the '34 or '35 season. At the 1934 Tripoli GP they ran 18 Achille Varzi, 20 Guglielmo Carraroli, 22 Mario Tadini, 28 Guy Moll and 32 Louis Chiron in that race. However in the picture there are four cars 16, 18, 20 & 22 the only time the team had those numbers was at Monaco '34 and '35. 16 Louis Chiron, 18 René Dreyfus, 20 Tazio Nuvolari and 22 Antonio Brivio.
Obviously I could be completely wrong. Main reason I've put this here is for next time so I can let Roger know as he did ask if we could identify anything in it.
