Given your requirements I'd be looking at Belper or Bakewell. At a push Beeley, but I don't know what your budget is.

We would be looking to spend up to £200k, with 2-3 beds and a garage and garden in an ideal world! Having had a quick look Bakewell looks quite pricey compared to Belper!

Bakewell is also another prime tourist destination and can get quite busy, especially at weekends.

Smalley is nice, very good village pub (The Bell), edge of Shipley Country Park (walks, cycling, horses etc)

If you don't mind newbuild then this is what your money buys

If you do a satellite view you will see the amount of greenary around the area

Ten minutes from a train station too

Funny enough my mate has just out his up for sale on the edge of Belper, in budget and with 3 pubs within a 5 min walk.

Thank you very much so far, we will definitely check out the Belper area! Rightmove here I come! Are there any other local estate agent links like the Burchell Edwards one posted?

What's wrong with south Sheffield?

Close to the M1 and the Hope Valley.

Why?

I'm in the city centre in three miles or on the moors in two miles. Plenty of sheep to go around...hehe

Hope Valley's nice. Pubs really need you, but it gets busy with tourists and, during the winter months, is regularly up to 5 degrees colder than the higher ground at both ends of the valley.

Do you wear Damart..?

You forget, not everyone has two telegrams from the Queen, having gone 'round the clock like you tongue out

Another vote for Belper, very pleasant place.
