Tomorrow we will be in Birmingham for the day. 2 adults, 3 kids, (3,6,8)
going to cadbury's world on monday but need to find something to do tomorrow (sunday)

quite astounded by the prices of the activities I can find. Thinktank (science museum) £42.50, and even crazier- Sea Life £82.50

So anyone know of anything reasonable that kids will enjoy in or around birmingham?

Drayton Manor - Looks like it would be £90 for the 5 of you if booked online.

Coventry Motor Museum is free.

http://www.transport-museum.com/

or

Kenilworth Castle - about £27

http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/daysout/propert...

or

A number of National Trust sites in and around Bham

http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/birmingham-back-to...

or Blakesley Hall in birmingham

http://www.bmag.org.uk/blakesley-hall

All relatively cheap or free.

I'm pretty sure the Sea Life place gets heavily discounted if you get the tickets via some roundabout route. Can't for the life of me remember how we did it though, Google might help.

ETA: 50% here from the look of it.

When we lived in brum we used to go to the wildlife conservation park on pershore rd. It's reasonably priced and not bad at all!

I would second this. Very reasonably priced. It is quite small but kids will love it. And it is right next door to Cannon Hill Park which is free and a great open space.

Sea life centre is very good too, but like suggested above there are lots of deals for discounted tickets so look out for them.

I live in Brum and the sea life centre is a rip off unless you can get the half price vouchers.

Mind you you can walk around it in about an hour and a half!

At Star city there is a crazy golf course indoor which is ok.
Plus a cinema, and bowling.

Drayton manor is really good, it's nice and compact so you are not walking round for hours like Alton towers!

Planters garden centre is really good, they have a huge climbing frame where the kids and you wear a harness and climb up and around, it's really good fun!

Hope this helps!

Agree with both of these; agree also Drayton Manor much more user-friendly than Alton Towers.

The Botanical Gardens in Edgbaston are also worth a look and have beautiful grounds smile

364 days of the year that would be a good shout but avoid tomorrow.

It's eid mela in Cannon Hill between 1 and 7pm so there'll be crazy traffic everywhere around there and no parking anywhere near.

Personally I found it rubbish, I paid full price but think it would of been expensive even at half price. We were in and out of there in under 45 minutes....

I thought it was poor too. The Deep in Hull was much better.

My wife wasn't as negative as I was about it and our son did enjoy it. He still likes the videos I took on my phone of some of the fish. They did have some of it closed off when we went so I wasn't sure if there was much more to see but we haven't rushed back to find out.
