Rush hour tonight, 6pm, A38M heavy with cars (but moving, not stationary) and there is someone trying to do a u-turn!! eekeekeek

If you are Midlands-based, you probably know it's 7 lanes across, so this guy must have had a death wish! Maybe he saw the motorway signs (he was heading out of the city), and panicked that he didn't want to go on the motorway, who knows, but whatever the reason it was absolute madness.

Even if he didn't crash, or cause a crash, I wouldn't be surprised if someone crashed just from taking a double-take thinking "WFT, is he really doing that?!".

Anyone, cool story bro and all that, but there really are some muppets on the road. Keep safe, people!

To be fair-everyone I've ever seen do this has waited for the oncoming traffic to be totally clear. I don't condone it, but, having sat on the expressway outbound for 2 hours before, I know I've been tempted and I do understand..

Madness. You can spin a roundabout at either end of the expressway, so there's no need to turn around that way.

It's probably on-par for Brummie driving though. I wonder, daily, how some people got their licenses.

No you can't, only on the way into the city, this lunatic was leaving the city and there's no legal and/or safe way of turning back without driving for a mile or two.

My bad. I thought the left-side of the right fork took you to the roundabout at the bottom of Gravelly Hill. Apparently it doesn't.
