I'm planning on going for a breakfast hoon at the weekend, the idea is to meet up with my Dad who lives in the Cotswolds, so somewhere around Stratford would be good.

Can anyone reccomend any cafes/farm shops in that area which do a good breakfast? Anywhere on a good driving road would be even better!

Try Wellesbourne airport cafe. Well known by bikers and hooning types, full English is very good.

Thanks, does it get affected by the traffic for the market at the weekends?

It's a few miles out of Stratford but a great farm shop/café is the Skylark at Staverton, just East of Daventry. Great roads round there and usually very little traffic.

Nope not that I've noticed tbh.

Thanks, I must have driven past there loads, it probably won't work for this week, but I'll bear it in mind for the future.

Willoughby cafe, A45 just North of Daventry. Looks a bit scruffy, but food is wonderful.

Thanks, I must have driven past that one loads when I lived in Rugby. Another good breakfast spot around there is Gongoozlers on the canal at Braunston.

Hi,

I can highly recommend: Victoria Coffee house - Moreton in marsh. I often stop here with friends when out cycling.

Thanks, I agree - I had lunch there yesterday! The plan is to meet halfway between Moreton and Coventry, so my Dad won't get much of a drive out!

We've settled on the cafe at Wellesbourne airfield for this weekend, but will check out some of the other options next year.

Another vote for the touchdown Cafe at Wellesbourne, or if you fancy driving out a bit further there is the Long itchington Diner

It certainly sounds like Touchdown cafe is the place to go.

I'm not a huge fan of Hilltop Farm Shop, the first few times I went it was great, but the service had gone down hill the last few times I visited before moving away from Rugby.

Is this the one off the Fosse way near Leamington?

Yup. Sunday lunch there is rather good, too.

Tried the hilltop this morning. Service a little slow but not too bad, and the waitress looked like Audrey Hepburn.cloud9
