driving into central Birmingham for 7pm?

looking at going to a concert at the o2 in central birmingham wednesday. am coming from banbury way - will it be a mare to drive there? trains back are rubbish - never driven in birmingham - thanks

You'll be fine; it's not that bad.

Just give yourself plenty of time just in case.

City centre traffic is a bit crap at the moment, due to some major roadworks. The ring road can get congested at the drop of a hat these days. There are plenty of good routes in an out, but it helps if you know the area.

Personally, I'd park up at one of the outer stations and get the train into Moor Street. Much less hassle. Whitlocks End has a good-sized car park and is only a few minutes from the Motorway. Come off at Jn 3 (M42) and head up the A435.

If you do decide to drive in, don't come off the M42 at Jn 4 or 5 (use 3 or 6).
