Like all towns there are streets that wouldn't look out of place on a C4 poverty documentary and there are new build estates with indentikit 3/4 bed semi/detached gaffs at £150-200k and then a few hidden away £1m+ stunners.
I regular cycle around the North Notts area, feel free to post any postcodes you are interested in and we'll have a look.

A couple of years ago, my G/F was looking for somewhere affordable in that area and bought new at Annesley.
Good value, close to the M1 and an easy commute to Mansfield.
Robin Hood Line rail link from the adjacent village ( Newstead ) to Nottingham -22 mins, Mansfield - 18 mins, or Worksop.
Worth a look.

Hi all,
A possible move to Mansfield may be on the cards. Are there any recommended (or not) areas to live and what's Mansfield like in general?
We would prefer south, south east of the town and don't need to be near any schools or anything.
Cheers

I grew up in Mansfield, at 25 I moved to Kirkby in Ashfield but it was a dive, house was broken into New Years Eve by someone 2 doors up...
I then moved to Sutton in Ashfield, on a quiet cul-de-sac which was lovely and I still own that house and rent it out. I still meet up with the neighbours from there as well, despite not living there for 5 years now. I then had kids and realised neither Sutton in Ashfield, Kirkby in Ashfield or Mansfield was a great place to raise children, so moved to Belper, which is much much nicer.
The places others have said are nice enough in Mansfield, but it's still overall not a great place imo. If you have to live there, still to the places mentioned on this thread.

Hi Steve. Don't you hate it when threads don't give you the end story?
There was a post from the OP, who appears to have a different user name now, in a House buying thread referencing his house in Mansfield, so I would say he did buy something somewhere. Gassing Station | Midlands | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
