Might be worth giving Penn Autos in wolves a ring. Not sure how much "run of the mill" stuff Andy Frost does, but if not interested he might know another good autobox specialist in the area.

They rebuilt the gearbox on my SLK. Came recommended by my specialist (ACMS in Walsall)

Nice guys, kept me informed, gave me a courtesy car for the period and seem to have done a good job. 12 month warranty on the work too, and didn't quibble when I was well over my inspection period required to honour the warranty.

I used VMTP for a £2k auto gearbox overhaul for my car, 15months later I lost 3 and 4th gear again. They said, bring it to us and we'll see what we can do. Quite frankly I didn't fancy spending another few hundred pounds on the offchance that they would do something about it. I wouldn't recommend them.
