Excellent, thanks! The route actually passes my house :O there are some great roads on there, lots of them I use on a regular basis. I will tag on from Ruyton-XI-Towns, what time, vaguely, are you expecting to get there? Or if I email my number, could you give me a quick text / call when you are a few miles away? If you don't mind, I will make a change to the route just after I've joined, it will avoid an awful junction that will split everyone up!There is also a lovely pub in the village if it's time for coffee / food...
I would expect some of the group with more..........firepower, shall we say, than me to get to the Ruyton area for about midday-ish there or thereabouts. With regard to the "lovely pub" you mention, I don't suppose that's The Burlton Inn by any chance? Although the plan was to have a stop off and some lunch at Sleap airfield, The Burlton would be a very agreeable alternative.

Could you pm me the route anyway please? Always looking for more nice roads!
I've just tried it, and the PM system on PH has failed yet againI'll have a think about this thing about getting the proposed route to all interested members, because IIRC - out of a dozen plus - only a handful have received it. I may set up a disposable e-mail account and just post it up on here for details of the run-out, then disable it on Sunday afternoon.
Talking of which, the weather forecast for the weekend is looking very agreeable!
Hello, all
Seeing as the PM system on here is a whole load of toss, I've set up a disposable e-mail account.
So, for all those who wish to participate, but have not yet received a copy of the proposed route, please send your requests through to ashropshirerun@gmail.com
As an aside, The Talbot at Ruyton XI Towns has been suggested as a lunch stop-off as opposed to the original plan to stop at Sleap Airfield near Wem. Do we have any preferences, as I'm happy with either?

Sorry folks - I'm out I'm afraid. I took the 996 for a major service and mot at jmh and they found enough jobs to do to ensure I won't have it back in time. A shame, it would have been good.
Sorry to hear that, Mark Hope it's nothing too serious for the Porker

I've just popped into the Talbot to check the food situation, they are only doing roast dinners on Sunday, so Sleap or somewhere else may be the best option so people have some choice.
Thanks for the sleuthing, Steve!Seems like Sleap Airfield would be the better option for a stop-off for lunch and a chin wag. It's not too far off the main route:-
Wem to Sleap Airfield
BTW, the temporary e-mail has worked , so
Jenny
Rob
Mark
Paul
Ian
I've replied to you all with the route.
If there's anyone else interested in participating and has not got a copy of the route, let me know via ashropshirerun@gmail.com.
With regard to a start time, say arrival at the car park for 09:30 for a 10:00 departure
Cheers

I will meet you at Sleap, I'm guessing about 1130 ish?
I'd suggest a little later, as we'll be leaving Newport at about 10:00 and the whole route (without stops) is about 3.5 hours with Sleap being about 3/4 of the way along it.If you get to Sleap for about 12:30, then you shouldn't be hanging around for too long.
Yes, all in all a very enjoyable day, and thanks to everyone who took part - it was great to meet you all. As discussed at Sleap, a run to the coast in West Wales sounds good for later this summer.
For those who couldn't get to us today, highlights were (for me, anyway, and in no order at all)

For those who couldn't get to us today, highlights were (for me, anyway, and in no order at all)
- the cultured noise of a de-catted Aston V12
- a pristine, un-molested DC-5 Integra-R
- the pace of a well pedalled Cupra R
- the choice of roads late on from Montford Bridge to Sleap (thanks Steve)
