Hi all,

Following a break in where my A6 Avant went walking, I'm looking to sort some additional security out before it's replacement turns up. Does anyone have any recommendations for security suppliers/companies in the Solihull/Warwick area?

For anyone else, if you have a newish A6 you might want to look at your own security as I know of 3 other A6 that have been taken in the last 4 weeks and an A1 this week in the Solihull area.

Sorry to hear about this. Are you looking for security for the car, or for the property? If the car, I can recommend AZ Vehicle Services in West Heath. He's fitted enhanced alarms, kill switches etc for a number of mates.
Genuine guy and fair priced from my experience... hope it helps.

Sorry, read it back now and I didn't make it clear. Was looking for house security, so locks, cameras and the like.

I know it won't stop them if they are determined but just want to put them off a bit.

This sounds very familiar, and we probably live in the same part of Solihull as lots of BMWs and Audis have been pinched in my neighbourhood over the past 6-12 months (the most recent last week) and even more burglaries. One guy posted footage of his intruders - the CCTV and alarms didn't put them off one bit.

We had composite doors fitted with anti-bump locks, and fitted sash jammers inside our UPVC patio doors - these prevent/make it difficult for the doors from being opened if the locks have been bypassed by drilling out the cylinders (very common).

If you change your locks at the very least may sure they are the anti-bump style of flat key. Apparently these are harder to drill and damage than regular euro cylinder locks.

If your car is potentially a target I would fit some kind of mechanical crook lock, this will deter many thieves more than beefed up security and locks.
