Looking to upgrade speakers, maybe head unit - local shop?
Discussion
Hi, I bought a 2005 WRX as a weekend car, excellent drive but...head unit is an 'AppRadio' and the speakers are apparently upgraded but the overall sound is poor. I've put in the subwoofer I had in a previous car and it's not improved it much.
Is there a shop that would recommend whether i change the App Radio unit, speakers etc? I don't want to go mental but I like my sounds..I have the old Sony head unit in the attic, that + the subwoofer was awesome in a previous motor, but maybe the speakers were far better? Not sure where the biggest bang for the buck is.
I live in Lichfield Staffs
cheers

I would only go to Platinum-In-Car in Coventry around here. Speak to Lee and say Chas sent you. While he deals more in high end audio he does have a wealth of information.
Can you come near Warwick? If you are by Warwick I am happy to cast an eye over it. I have my suspicions of what is wrong but it would be good to see it to have a better picture of what the issue is. I used to dabble in audio a while back and if my E46 didn't have the HK system I'd be putting something in that. I have quite a stack of kit!
What car was the sub in? Putting a sub into a saloon car requires more thought than a hatchback. As for the speakers that could be down to many many things.
